Montpelier, Vermont
On the banks of Winooski River is Vermont’s capital
of Montpelier. The charming city is easily one of the most
beautiful capitals in America, and a favorite summer vacation
area of many.
What to Do in Montpelier:
Morse Farm-This wooded farm is a production site
for maple sugar and its related products. You can tour the
Sugar house and see a slide show which explains the process.
There is gift shop on site.
Thomas Waterman Wood Art Gallery-19th century American
artwork-oils, watercolors, etching, as well as monthly displays
of regional artist
Vermont Historical Society and Museum-Located
near the State House, here you can see the renowned, “Freedom
& Unity: One Ideal, Many Stories” exhibits, and
get a peek into Vermont’s past.
Evergreen’s Chalet-Here you will find luxurious
rentals of varying sizes with numerous activities to choose
from. You can stretch your legs with hiking and nature trails,
explore the area on cross country ski trails, go snowmobiling
and take guided backcountry tours.
Rock of Ages Visitors Center- In nearby Barre, you
can tour the quarry and factory and sandblasting. You can
see sculptors at work, exhibits and the outdoor granite
bowling lane. You can even create your own souvenir.
